A wondrous wedding in Stratford

From the moment I met them, I knew Kristan and Ryan's wedding was going to be special. Although Kristan's description of her wedding day plans really intrigued me, (especially her dress, theme colors and chosen venue), nothing could have prepared me for the stunning beauty of her wedding day. Held at the Stratford Plantation near Montross Virginia (Robert E. Lee's birthplace), I was blown away by the shear elegance and beauty of it all.

The bridesmaids wore Deep Sea Blue to match their eyes (that's right - all the bridesmaids had blue eyes!). Ryan and the guys looked very cool in their elegant bow-tied tuxes. And Stratford hall was a photographer's dream - with its Antebellum brick and stairway, gardens and vistas of the rolling hills and the Potomac river off in the distance. Whew! The ceremony started at 6pm and was beautiful in the setting sun. Then the reception went on well into the balmy yet breezy August night. The band was killer playing a combination of blues and rock - the lead singer and guitarist literally getting right into the middle of an adoring crowd. It was truly a night to remember.

In the words of Jim, Ryan's best man: "I can't wait to see what Kristen and Ryan do next!" Kristan and Ryan you rock! Thanks for letting Dan Iott Photography capture the magic!
